Stockholm is the capital city of Sweden and was founded as a city in 1252.  The island of Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s Old Town.

There are more moose per square mile in Sweden than in any other country.  I asked at one restaurant if they had moose and he didn’t know what I meant!  Was bummed as I was craving moose at this point.

Great room! We came back after our first full day out and there was a massive crowd out front of the hotel. Myrna and I looked at each other and said is our hotel on fire? What’s going on? Well … looks like The Rolling Stones were in town and staying at our hotel. Yes, I’ve slept under the same roof as Mick Jagger. I’m such a hussy!

Sadly, we didn’t see Mick, Keith or Ronnie anywhere. We saw a lot of their road crew, backup singers and even chatted with a groupie that goes to all their concerts, but not actual sightings for us. Disappointed ☹️

Vasa Museum

The ship Vasa capsized and sank in 1628 and was salvaged in 1961. It was fascinating to see how the Vasa was recovered and the work that is remaining.

Nobel Prize Museum

The Nobel Prize Museum opened in the spring of 2001 for the 100th anniversary of the Nobel Prize. Always interesting to see different objects on display.

The ABBA Museum

Yes, we did this. It was fun and I liked seeing all the clips of them performing.

Stockholm Castle

This castle is in Gamla Stan and was built between 1690 and 1750.

Drottningholm Palace

Built in 1699, the Drottningholm Palace is the private residence of the Swedish royal family. We took a boat out to the palace and got a river view.
