My first introductory excursion to the island ~ we walked from the lodge to the coastline, descending among prairies, farmlands and archaeological sites. We finished in the area of Akahanga, where the second largest moai platform is found. After the hike, we were treated to fresh fruit and drinks.
Moai were knocked down hundreds of years ago and are still where they fell. Upright Moai have been restored.
