Sitting in The Jack eating a salad and having a glass of white and singing along to American Pie as I write this post.
I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news
But she just smiled and turned away
My favourite verse, apparently about Janis Joplin.
I had the best day!! I saw Nemo and Dory 💕
This area of the world is absolutely breathtaking. I booked a 3 dive day trip with Diver’s Den Cairns. We dove in the Plate Top and Turtle Bay sections of Norman Reef.
The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef off the coast of Queensland, Australia. It is one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and can be seen from space.
To me, it was simply beautiful and thriving with marine life. The colours underwater never cease to astound me.
I fell in love with Christmas Tree Worms. They live in the coral reefs and the ones I saw were blue. If you wave your hand in front of them, they disappear back into the reef. I was fascinated.
There was a giant clam and my dive guide waved her hand in front of it and it opened and closed. Awesome!!
There were quite a few Whitetip Sharks around, not overly big or scary, but there. They tend to hover over the bottom. On my 2nd dive, I saw a really big Whitetip Shark a few metres away from me. Once I settled down a bit, I enjoyed the moment, but still was humming the Jaws music as I went along.
I only learned to dive a year ago so I could dive Silfra in Iceland. If you have ever had the thought that you’d like to dive, do it. Take the course, google it now and book in your city. You will NEVER regret it.
I just gave all my Australian change to the Salvation Army. A guy just came through the bar. My Nan that just passed was Salvation Army. ❤️
Well folks, I’m off to Singapore 🇸🇬 tomorrow! Gonna have a Singapore Sling or two. 💕 xoxo
