Kilmuir Cemetery contains historic graves and monuments.
- Flora MacDonald ~ she helped Bonnie Prince Charlie on his journey to Skye when he needed to escape after the Battle of Culloden. Dressed as an Irish spinning maid named Betty Burke, he sailed with Flora MacDonald to Skye on 27 June 1746. Her epitaph reads, ‘Her name will be mentioned in history and if courage and fidelity be virtues, mentioned with honour’.

Sligachan Bridge
A pedestrian bridge built between 1810 and 1818, the legend of Sligachan says that if you dip your face in the river water by the Sligachan Bridge for 7 seconds and let it dry naturally, you will be granted eternal beauty.
Fairy Pools
At the foot of the Black Cuillins are the Fairy Pools. These are magical. It is about a 2.4 km walk to the first waterfall and pool.
