Off the west coast of Scotland, the Isle of Lewis and Isle of Harris form the main island in the Outer Hebrides and are two parts of one island. The Outer Hebrides are a chain of islands and I have to return and see more of them.

Ferry Ride ~ Uig to Tarbert and Back
A ferry ride took us from the Isle of Skye to the Isle of Harris. The views and the rainbow were magnificent!
Calanais Standing Stones
Located on the Isle of Lewis, the Calanais Standing Stones are standing stones placed in a cruciform pattern with a central stone circle. Erected in the late Neolithic era and according to legend, the Calanais Stones were petrified giants who would not convert to Christianity.
I touched and touched, but yet again did NOT fall through time into the arms of a 7 foot tall red-headed Highlander. Disappointing.
Lews Castle
Built in 1844, Lews Castle is located in Stornoway.
