Doesn’t it just sound exotic and sexy? Montenegro. I imagine old movies, suave gentlemen and romance. Located on the Adriatic Sea, Montenegro is nestled between Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo and Albania. The capital city of Montenegro is Podgorica.
The town of Kotor is on the Bay of Kotor and is one of the most beautiful places in the Balkans. A medieval fortified town, Kotor is charming, full of cats and it doesn’t matter where you are, the view is majestic.
I arrived on the Wind Surf and sailed down the Bay of Kotor as the sun came up.

Tell me about the Hostels. How do you find them? Is there a website? Which ones do you prefer?
Hi Lynette!
I used booking.com once I settled into a routine. They had everything from hostels to hotels to apartments and everything in between.
For the most part I loved the hostels and I stayed in some great ones that I’d stay in again. A few the bathrooms were disgusting and the co-ed ones were outside of my comfort zone. 🤷♀️ I met some great people in them.
Sometimes an apartment or hotel would be a few dollars more than a hostel and I’d try those. I missed my solitude after a while and wanted a room by myself.
If in the UK at all recommend booking a room above the pub. Those were the best!!
Are you planning a trip??
