The summer shenanigans of Jackie & Myrna have begun.  After COVID, rescheduling, cancellations, flights being cancelled 2 weeks ago and being rebooked on different connection flights, we have arrived.  A KLM flight from Edmonton to Amsterdam got us so far and we took different flights to Stockholm.  An enjoyable time was had on the long haul flight.  Just leave us the bottle please!

I’m convinced I was a Highlander’s wife in a previous life.  I love all things Scotland and am super excited to be returning.  I plan to touch every standing stone I come across to see if I can fall through time.  I don’t understand why it didn’t work before?  My favourite thing to do in London is watch The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty’s Theatre and it is a must-do again this trip.

The trip ends with an 11 hour flight to LA to see The Stadium Tour.  The Floor.  Section A4.  Row 8.  Motley Crue, Poison, Def Leppard and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts!  I’ve seen them all before many times except for Joan Jett.  Very excited to see her perform and hope she does some of the Runaways songs.

I’m confident there will be a little bit of shopping in Harrods and on Rodeo Drive.  A gal always needs a new pair of shoes or two or three … and maybe a handbag.

The Original Plan

We had another Windstar Cruise booked since before COVID ~ it was rescheduled and changed too much (including the embarkation port) so we cancelled it. It is just not our time to do The Beauty of the Baltic & Kiel Canal cruise.  It was disappointing, but we’re doing our own thing instead.

We scored our tickets to The Stadium Tour almost 3 years ago and it was supposed to be a weekend trip to LA.  With all the date changes, it’s become the book end of our Europe jaunt.

The Route ~ 7 Countries

I don’t get to log a new country this trip, but there are a couple places I haven’t been before ~ Isle of Lewis and Isle of Harris, St. Andrews and Munich.  Rental cars and the other side of the road are in scope again this trip and I’m driving in Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland (cross your fingers!).

Sweden 🇸🇪

  • Stockholm

Germany 🇩🇪

  • Munich

Ireland 🇮🇪

  • Dublin
  • Cork
  • Galway

Northern Ireland 🇬🇧

  • Bushmills
  • Belfast

Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿󠁧󠁢󠁳 ~ Outlander Things ~ Seeking Jamie Fraser

What adventures will be found over the next 4 weeks?  Maybe another bike riding event? Stay tuned …
