This is my favourite place in the world! Scotland, Inverness, Culloden, the history, the world of Jamie Fraser and Outlander, I love it here. Inverness is known as the happiest place in Scotland.
Inverness is in the Scottish Highlands and two historic battles took place here ~ the Battle of Blàr nam Fèinne in the 11th century and the Battle of Culloden in the 18th century.
Urquhart Castle
The ruins of Urquhart look out over Loch Ness and date back to the 13th century.
Clava Cairns
The Clava Cairns are circular chamber tombs surrounded by a stone circle. I tried again and apparently, I still did NOT fall through time into the arms of a 7 foot tall red-headed Highlander.
Leakey’s Book Shop
Ahhh … the smell of old books!
The Old High Church of Inverness
The old graveyards are so interesting reading the gravestones and wondering who the people were, what they did and who they loved.
