It was that time of year again!  The girls headed to Nanoose Bay for our yearly fun filled weekend.  We (aka The Girls) are Dawn, Debbie, Nancy, Nadine, Kim, Sheri & Jackie and have been friends for too many years to count now (think back to when you were single digits old)!

Nanoose Bay is located on the eastern shore of Vancouver Island between Nanaimo and Parksville.  Vancouver Island is beautiful with too many things to do.  Whatever your interests are, you can do it on the island.  We loved this area so much last year that we returned to the area and stayed at this house:  Large Cottage-like home with Private Beach. 

A few lessons were learned last time and food was ordered online and delivered.  Less time was wasted with logistics which meant we had more time to enjoy it all.  We plan the meals and a few of the girls live on the island so if we buy too much it’s not wasted.  Pierre was brought along for the coffee addicts and the oddball (me) made sure that Diet Coke was on the shopping list.

All my female readers know exactly what happens on a girl’s trip ~ laughter, food, wine, card games for us, and more wine.  Plus we have Pierre.  These weekends are the best!  We spent our time lounging around, playing cards and planning the next meal.  There is always so much to catch up on.

We had access to the whole house and there was a kitchen & living area both upstairs and downstairs.  The con of this layout is the dishwasher is downstairs and we were hanging out upstairs.  We had to lug the dishes up and down the stairs.

We had 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms for 7 women – it worked.  A wood burning fireplace in the living room was divine!  Many decks along with a firepit completed the outside.  We didn’t lack for spaces to hang out that could accommodate all of us comfortably.

We encountered a lady with 7 puppies on the beach that were given names similar to ours.  No puppies were brought home, but the idea was bounced off a few husbands.

Monday arrived too soon and we headed home.  A stop in Comox for lunch and sightseeing wrapped up the weekend!
