Moldova is a small country in Eastern Europe located between Ukraine and Romania. I arrived in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova, on my birthday after splurging and buying myself a birthday scarf in the airport.
I found a lovely apartment in Chisinau. One of my travel tips is to step outside of the hostel or hotel cycle and look at the places that folks have available to rent.
I strolled through Chisinau and the image I remember most is these statues. The Sculpture of Lovers ~ he’s waiting and checking his watch ~ she’s strolling along on the cobblestone street carrying her shoes. I liked it.
The Nativity Cathedral and Bell Tower is Moldovan Orthodox and was built in the 1830’s. I love old churches and always light a candle.
I wandered around Chisinau soaking up the laid back vibe.
I didn’t see everything in Chisinau and would love to return one day.
Happy Travels!
